Yeah Neumir. go read the article in Game Informer. It will piss you off when you see how far they have managed to take Little Big Planet.
There is no reason an FPS cannot also have those capabilities.

The controllers don't have nearly the number of buttons or anything and unless they add support for a usb mouse/keyboard (PS3 can do this, don't know about 360) it'll probably be rather clumsy trying to make stuff on consoles.

Look at it like this, yes the controller doesn't have nearly as many buttons, but that isn't necessary in map editing. Look at any of the FC editors, to use different tools you can open a scrollbar menu and select the tool you want to use and any variation of buttons while using that tool will do different things with the tool. EX: Bump tool; raise, lower, smooth etc. I don't think we need tons of buttons to have plenty of tools and options, we just need a huge scrollybar tool menu! I don't see where there could be any problems with having too little buttons if you just put all the tools in their own space on the bar and you have to select them one at a time. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to be smoothing out some terrain while i'm moving a brush somewhere else. So selecting them one at a time is good enough for me.

@Evil I would love a stand alone editor for the consuls... That thing would make some serious money I think. It might only attract a certain fanbase at first.. But I definitely think something like that would grow into quite the game..

I get what you're saying about the controller and if done right, it can easily be a manageable tool. It all depends on how it's done. Some games like RTS games when ported from the PC mouse and keyboard work horribly. They really need to completely redo the way things are laid out in the editor if it's gonna work for consoles. Mainly, it's that a mouse has infinitely more precision that a control stick ever could. Making it better for high detail editing. I really hope they add a snap to rotation for various degrees of turning and rotating. That'd make lining up stuff a hundred times easier.

@Evil: I've seen the video for LBP2 and I'm impressed. The only way it pisses me off is that Ubi didn't work that hard. In every other way, I love it 'cause I have a PS3. I happen to have LBP and I don't play it too much 'cause I'm stuck on FC2. I prefer a full 3D environment to a side-scrolling one. Plus I got into the FC2 community which is the main reason I stick around.

Yeah I hear you. LBP2 though allows more than just 2D sidescrolling now. But what I was talking about with the controller was when you are creating your own game (not Level, but full game) You can create your avatar and then you can program the controller to have all of the characters actions mapped to it. All of the Ai has its own internal circuit board where you can program everything they do on it and then you can paste those actions to as many as you want. you can program literally anything.
Its like the game MS came out with on LIVe a while back that allowed you to create a game taken to the extreme.

Wow... I have a PS3 and LBP, but my bro is the one that uses it and plays LBP all the time so I'll occasionally watch him play and play with him etc and the game is flat out awesome, but just never could get into the editor. It's completely different from making a map in FC. It's just so much more creative in it's own way and after reading what you've said and watching the video for the up coming LBP2 I'm just speechless at how amazing it's going to be. Not only will you be able to create you own campaigns, but they're also carrying over the 2 million levels from the first LBP to the second one! That's amazing! I am thoroughly impressed by this game and found asking myself why I don't take over my bro's PS3 and playing LBP xD
